Kathleen Dough-Castro has 20 years of experience developing and executing marketing communications programs for non-profit, public and private sector industries. She is skilled at identifying and resolving complex image and communication issues in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment.

She has 16 years in public information for several South Florida municipalities. Most recently, she was the Marketing & Communications Director for the City of Sunrise in Broward County. There, she was instrumental in the creation of a non-profit foundation dedicated to assisting Broward County-based charitable organizations in meeting their funding needs. Under her leadership, the non-profit raised almost $225,000 in its first year.

After leaving government she launched a private public relations and image consulting practice with a focus on serving clients involved in water/wastewater engineering, land use planning, development, law and energy.

Kathleen has a BS degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications and is the author of multiple industry articles on economic development trends in South Florida. She was recognized for her public sector service with a John J. McCloy Urban Fellowship award, sponsored by the American Council on Germany and the National League of Cities. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators. Kathleen is also an avid scuba diver and certified Divemaster.
