Loyd has published more than 20 scholarly articles on organizational behavior, marketing communications and management practices in national and international journals, and has served on the editorial boards as a reviewer for many journals in the social and behavioral sciences. He completed a national research project for the International Association of Business Communicators that documented the role communication plays in corporate performance.
He has also consulted for companies like AT&T, Outback Steakhouse, Inc., Yamaha U.S.A., Brighthouse Networks (Time-Warner), Media General, Hooters Management Corporation and Verizon. Loyd has been a trustee for the Arthur W. Page Society and has twice been an officer of the International Communication Association.
Loyd received a doctorate degree in communication and psychology from the University of Michigan. He is a tenured full professor in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida and teaches graduate courses in both Marketing and Communication Measurement. He also served as Senior Vice President with Louis Harris & Associates, and is President of Decision Strategies Group, Inc., a Tampa-based research and consulting firm.
In the little spare time he has, Loyd has a passion for surfing, big game stand-up fishing and drinking fine wine with friends.
